Good work day today. My mom and dad went over in the morning and put up trim in the bedrooms. They got it around all but one window and closets and door frame. Getting so close to completing the bedrooms.
Josh cleared out all the cabinets in the kitchen to fix the floor. It was a little uneven in the main walking area, so he leveled it out and hopefully that fixes the problem.
He began laying the floor in the dining room and got two rows done. It's hard getting started with the herringbone design, but once he has a few rows done, it will go a lot quicker. I can't wait to see what it looks like by this time next week, or even tomorrow!
On Thursday night he put up some siding on the house. It was tore down and damaged when they had to fix a wall in the kitchen months ago. Before it was just plywood and plastic. We are thinking of using this siding more around the back of the house where you can see the cinder blocks for the basement. We also talked about our deck and how we want it. It will be pretty large. I've got the go-ahead to stain it blue. We were also think of tension cables for the railings. It's strong and thin so it won't block views and be more open. More of a modern look. Then we were going to make the top flat all around so you can sit drinks or flower pots on it.
My mom finished the bedroom, pantry, and bathroom doors and they are ready to hang. That is all the upstairs doors besides the linen closet. I'm going to paint that one the same color as the walls because it's small and I don't want the hall to be a million white doors.
And I mowed today. It took me a long time to get used to our mower and I had a lot of problems with it. But I got about 2/3 of the lawn done (Remember, we have 2.2 acres) so I count that as a win. It's so time consuming. I was starting to get sea sick because it was the first time I drove a clutch mower.
We need to sand the walls in the hall and dining room because there are air bubbles in the paint. We can't figure out why. I want to do the final coat on the kitchen ceiling. Well, I don't WANT to, but I want it to be done already. My parents are going to start hanging doors and Josh is going to keep on with the tile.
