Day 32

The hole in the dining room is no more and the subfloor is completed!  The issue we have here is that it is not level with the kitchen floor.  The dining room is perfect, but the kitchen kind of slopes down.  So it looks like we will have to do the same thing to the kitchen when the time comes.  The great thing about doing everything yourself is how little it costs.  To rip up the dining room floor totally, put new joists down and then plywood, I'm guessing it was under $100.  How much would a professional charge to do the same thing?

I haven't been to the house in a few days, probably like 4.  My mom went over a few days ago and took out the cabinets in the kitchen.  I haven't seen it yet, but the kitchen is pretty empty now.  And will need new drywall.  The kitchen will be the next big project.  Fixing the floors and putting up the drywall.  Then the cabinets can be hung and painted.  Or visa versa.  Then from there it's painting, countertops, back splash, appliances and flooring and voila! you have a kitchen! Easier said than done.
